In trying to get my groove back, I’ve been taking a look at many personal and professional elements in my life to look for areas that need improvement. While I’ve always been an inveterate note taker because of my work as a technical writer and side writing projects – I’ve yet to leave paper behind and make the move to taking notes electronically This has been something I’ve been meaning to revisit since I got my iPad last Spring.
My next shot at forsaking moleskine notebooks and yellow legal pads appears to be Penultimate, a free form note taking application for the iPad.It got my attention after it did a good job capturing my handwriting when I came to using the BoxWave Capacitive iPad Stylus (the first stylus I ever had success writing with).
The notebook setup in Penultimate also makes it easy to capture and organize my notes but I would definitely like to see options like tagging available in future releases of the software.
Now I finally have the tools that make electronic note taking a viable option for me.
One of my resolutions for 2011 is to cut down on my paper usage so I hope to use Penultimate in earnest to take meeting and interview notes and then take advantage of Penultimate’s notebooks to organize the information. I like the fact I can archive notebooks to PDF and then transfer them over to Evernote for later reference.
Have you tried note taking with Penultimate?
